Nathan “Nate” Hemmes, age 23 of Holland, passed away unexpectedly Monday, December 2, 2013.
Nate was a U.S. Marine and a loving and devoted uncle. He graduated from Holland High School in 2009. He enjoyed playing sports, especially basketball, helping out at local basketball camps. He was a Michigan State fan. He was a loyal friend to many, and will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 11:00am First Baptist Church of Holland, 1066 E 8th St, in Holland. Rev. Tim Murdoch will be officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.

Winnie Breuker, age 95 of Holland, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Lakeside Vista in Holland.
Winnie was born Aug. 11, 1918 to Rev. John and Alice Kolkman. She was a life-long member of Graafschap Christian Reformed Church, and a member of the Ladies Aid.
Winnie was preceded in death by her husband John in 2004; an infant daughter, Evelyn Joy; a son-in-law, Nathan Bosch, and her brother Ben Kolkman.
She is survived by her children: Shirley Bosch of Holland; Marilyn and Donald Graveling of Holland, Carol and Robert Nagelkirk of Zeeland, Marcia and Dale Ryzenga of Holland, Calvin and Linda Breuker of Holland; 16 Grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; Sister, Julia Kolkman, of Grand Rapids; Sister-in-law, Dorothy and Glenn Russcher, of Holland. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Graafschap Christian Reformed Church, 5973 Church St., Holland. Officiating will be Revs. Henry Vanden Heuvel and Stan Scripps.
Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of the service on Saturday at the Graafschap Church.
Burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery.

B. Herman Webb, age 82 of Holland, passed away Monday, November 25, 2013 at home.
Herm was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean War. He loved to hunt and fish, but it was church work which gave him the greatest joy. Most recently he was a member of Riverside Chapel. He was preceded in death by a son, Gene Webb in 2001 and his 1st wife Sue in 1974, and 2nd wife, Clarissa in 2010.

Robert “Bob” Dale Sloothaak, age 83, of Holland, passed away Monday, November 25, 2013 at the Hospice House of Holland after a brief illness.
Robert was a lifetime member of Fourth Reformed Church, a church that his family had been members of for over 100 years. While there, he served on the Greater Consistory. He was a member of the Bible Study group for many years at Evergreen Commons.
He worked for 18 years at the Holland Street Department and retired 21 years ago. He enjoyed his time spent at Myrtle Beach and his cottage on Lost Lake. When his two daughters built cottages next door he had time to watch them enjoy it too! He loved to watch the weather, all sports on TV, reading and playing cards and board games with his friends and family.

Carol Chapman, age 77 of Hamilton, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Heartland of Holland.
She is survived by her husband Nelson Chapman; Children, Ronald (Dawn) Chapman, Dale Chapman, Clyde (Eileen) Chapman, Robert Chapman, Cindra Chapman Webb and Jack, Richard Chapman, David (Evelyn) Chapman, Kathy (Jay) Overley, Roy (Amanda) Chapman, Mark (Keli) Chapman; 14 Grandchildren; and 1 Great Grandchild. She is also survived by many brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.
A private memorial service will take place.

John Calvin Fisher, Jr., age 72, of Holland, went to the loving arms of his Lord on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, after a short, courageous battle with brain cancer.
John was a member of Christ Memorial Church. He was a graduate of Hope College and worked as a letter carrier for the Holland Post Office for over 20 years. John loved boating and grilling. But his greatest love was his family – his wife, his children, and his precious grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eunice Fisher, and father-in-law, John VanZanten.
